George Harrison - Essential III
Hello Friend of Pro-Ject,
February 25, 2017 would be the 74th birthday of the great lead guitarist and Beatle, George Harrison. To celebrate, the Harrison family in collaboration with Pro-Ject, has created the George Harrison Essential III Turntable. The prototype of this wonderful tribute to his music legacy created a lot of excitement at CES and we're confident it will be a very popular item.
Pro-Ject USA and North American distributor Sumiko are proud to announce we are now officially accepting orders for the very limited edition George Harrison Essential III Turntable. Dealer cost is $334.38 and retail is $499; delivery is expected in April.
Pro-Ject worked with Bravado, Apple Corps and Studio Number One to create a work of art based on the 2014 art-print lithograph designed for the Harrisons by artist Shepard Fairey (the artist who created Obey Giant and the iconic Hope poster) and George Harrison’s personal analog recording console (which can be seen underneath the acrylic platter).
The turntable features an adjustable 8.6” one-piece aluminum tonearm utilizing sapphire bearings that houses a factory mounted/aligned Ortofon OM10 cartridge. The main bearing is precision machined, high-grade stainless steel and the drive pulley is crafted from aluminum. The acrylic platter speed is regulated by a new DC motor speed controller. The George Harrison Essential III Turntable includes Connect it E interconnect hardwired directly to the output.
We love the art of great analog audio design. And we really love honoring a great musician with a collectible turntable that is not only a fine example of analog design but that can also play his music! Imagine using this turntable to play the new George Harrison – The Vinyl Collection box set (available at www.georgeharrison.com), which features all of Harrison’s solo albums in one collection for the first time - all on 180g vinyl and created from the original analog masters.
