Description

Boasting premium materials, stylish aesthetics, and a rich, lively sound, extensive research & development have ensured no-compromise build & sound quality for a ‘table in this range. Building on the base-model T1, T1 Phono SB features a quality, deafeatable MM phono preamp and ‘Speed Box’ technology, allowing for push-button speed selection while reducing speed variance. The stylish CNC-machined plinth (gloss black, satin white, satin walnut foil) is free of plastic parts and is carefully manufactured to ensure there are no hollow spaces, which prevents unwanted resonance within the chassis. Carrying this philosophy throughout, the glass platter is also a massive, zero-resonance design with aesthetic appeal. To support the deck, purpose-selected turntable isolation feet prevent ambient vibration near your system from affecting your playback.

Reviews

“The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is an attractive entry-level turntable with important ease-of-use upgrades and a high level of fit and finish. It includes a defeatable, built-in phono preamp that sounds very solid, electronic speed switching between 33rpm and 45rpm, and a cartridge pre-mounted and aligned. Unusual at this price, the T1 features a glass (rather than plastic) platter, and the included felt slip mat is simple but effective. Set-up is as easy as it gets, and sound is fantastic—especially at this price point. Overall tone is warm-to-neutral with lively dynamics and a lot of heft, particularly in those more up-beat tunes. It’s a fun deck and a fantastic starting point.” – The Absolute Sound (TAS) Best Turntables Under $2000

“Pro-Ject has gone to great lengths to eliminate areas that will add additional resonances or vibrations to this ‘table, and… I can hear it.” – Randy Messman, Cheap Audio Man

“Not only is it visually attractive, but it also performed amazingly well with a variety of music.” – Philip Beaudette, SoundStage HiFi

“Everything about this low cost, full featured Pro-Ject turntable impressed: the design, construction, feature set, measured performance and of course the sound.” – Michael Fremer, Analog Planet
